All Glory, All Honor, All Blessing

Because you have these blessings, do your best to add these things to your lives; to your faith, add goodness; and to your goodness, add knowledge; and to your knowledge, add self-control, add patience; and to your patience, add service for God; and to your service to God, add kindness for your brothers and sisters in Christ; and to this kindness, add love. If all these things are in you and are growing, they will help you to be useful and productive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:5-8

2009 New Year’s Resolutions:

I will strive to…

…love unconditionally.

I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other. – John 14:22

…live out the will of God in my life and to accept change, as challenging as it may be.

Loving God means obeying his commands. And God’s commands are not too hard for us, because everyone who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world — our faith. So the one who wins against the world is the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. – 1 John 5:3-5

…mature more as a woman of God.

Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. – Roman 12:2

…give my all in my studies and with my talents, feeling content and giving praise to God for what He has blessed me with.

In all work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which he promised to his people. You are serving the Lord Christ. – Colossians 3:23-24

…attend Mass [more than once a week], Adoration weekly, and to go to confession at least once every two weeks.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.” – John 4:13-14

…absolutely TRUST Him in EVERYTHING. That’s right, Faye. EVERYTHING.

Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disappointed. – Romans 10:11

…continue serving the Lord.

Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you what you want. Depend no the Lord; trust him, and he will take care of you. – Psalm 37:4-5

…allow the Holy Spirit to use me in whatever way to give Him glory

With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever. Amen. – Ephesians 3:20-21

…always praise God through everything, even at times of suffering.

Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Ephesians 5:20

…allow God to fill my heart with love and make it new and beautifully better than ever.

I pray that Christ will live in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built in love. And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love — how wide how long and how high and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone could ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God. – Ephesians 3:17-19

…have peace within my heart, mind, and soul.

Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

…be more forgiving.

Get along with each other, and forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgave you. – Colossians 3:13

…accept my trials and weaknesses with full knowledge that He will give me the strength to continue on the glory road.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

AND:

…consistently work out.
Working out this year was incredibly INCONSISTENT.

…eat healthier.
I want to be able to walk up the hill at school without getting so easily tired.

…lose 5 lbs/eat smaller portions.
I might not even have to try while I’m in Florence, actually.

…remember that I am beautiful.
I always have trouble remembering that. Blah.

Lord God,
As a brand new year approaches, I ask that You use me, break me, cleanse me, heal me, strengthen me, mold me, move me, fix me, humble me, teach me, show me, challenge me, provide for me, and everything else that’ll allow me to better myself for You and for others. As difficult as it may be in the months to come, constantly remind me that I am here in this world to give You all the glory and honor through all that I do. Help me to be more selfless and to always have the mindset of putting You and others always before myself. Please protect all of my family and friends and bless them with healthy lives. Encourage us to inspire each other to serve and love You more and to always love one another. Send them Your love, peace, and happiness and let that spread onto those we know and those we meet. May I use this year to spend more time with You and fall deeper in love, over and over again. I am all Yours and all that I have belongs to You. Amen.

2009 will be another blessed and victorious year.
