A Past Favorite

During design class yesterday, a girl brought up our school’s annual Spring Fest. To make a short story even shorter, I was eavesdropping and overheard that the school got a hold of The Ataris to perform. After my amusement to what I just heard, old memories suddenly rushed into my head about how much I loved them a few years ago and always related their lyrics to my life.

I wasn’t entirely buying into the fact that some person said The Ataris was coming to our school to perform. Anyone can say anything nowadays. So just a few minutes ago I landed on The Ataris’ MySpace, checked out their upcoming tours and saw:

Apr 18 2008 7:30P Marymount University – Lee Center (The Ataris) Arlington, VA

Although I’m not into them as much as I used to be and don’t know much of their new music, I hope they’ll play some of their old stuff because not only were those songs awesome, but it’ll really brings back loads of GREAT memories from Summer 2003. That was an awesome summer…

My all-time favorites:
I’m hoping they at least play one of these.

“Being grown up isn’t half as fun as growing up,
These are the best days of our lives
The only thing that matters is just following your heart
And eventually you’ll finally get it right.”
– In This Diary

“So long, Astoria
I found a map to buried treasure
And even if we come home empty handed
We’ll still have our stories of battle scars, pirate ships, and wounded hearts,
Broken bones and all the best of friendships
And when this hourglass has filtered out its final grain of sand,
I raise my glass to the memories we had
This is my wish
I’m taking back
I’m taking them all back.”
– So Long, Astoria

It’s always great to have moments like this where you look back and remember how great things were and how happy it made us…and still makes us.
