40 Days for Life: Day 1

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

– 2 Chronicles 7:14

Day 1: Recognizng the Darkness

Signs of Evil | After reading this article, it seriously feels like my heart is being piqued. Finally having the opportunity to get involved in the 40 Days for Life movement, I didn’t realize the fullness and depth of what I was getting myself into. Sure, I was aware of the constant prayer and fasting aspect  to end abortion, but now I am reassured that we should be praying and fasting hard for those living in darkness, too; that our Merciful Lord will shine His light upon them, soften their hardened hearts, and show them the path of His Light and Truth.

What a great thrust for the very first day…

Throughout these 40 challenging, but Spirit-filled days,  may the Lord transform the world. Let us be a people of HOPE and pray unceasingly. On a much brighter note, I LOVE BABIES AND I LOVE LIFE! =)

God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people. Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation´s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.

Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject the “culture of death.” Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
